Quality pics of certain morphs requested

creptilia Oct 27, 2010 05:19 PM

Hello,
I am putting together various boa genetics activities for my students (and my thesis project), which is requiring me to develope a reference photo album of the following boa morphs (as they will not actually be breeding the snakes themselves). I am requesting quality pics of quality animals that best represent these morphs. (I have some of these myself, but there may be better out there. You will be given credit.) If not for me, do it for the kids and science education research.

Just post them here. Show us what you got!

Awesome project! I wish I woulda had a teacher that did stuff like this, instead we had to learn genetics using the example of white flower + red flower = pink flower.

Here are a few "quality" pics of mine of a Hypo Motley het lipstick. One of few motleys that have a nice motley pattern with hypo colors, usually the pattern is offset, however his held together nicely! Celia Chein was kind enough to take the pics for me a few years ago, so they turned out very nice. feel free to use.

Thank you for taking the time to send these out. This project is taking over my life, but it should be worth it in the end.

Thanks Ron, but no chance of super on this girl. She was produced from a normal full reverse stripe Panamanian sire bred to a peachy salmon hypo dam. She is so clean though, she sure does look super. LOL Thanks for the compliments. We truly appreciate it Ron. By the way, our DH sharp sunglow harlequin males from your Hotley to Sharp litter last year, are doing absolutely wicked. Getting some really good color on them. Thanks for the stunners man.

Thanks for that pic brother. We picked up a couple Hotleys this year from Brendan Magee's litter. here are the two males we got.

Lil' Crew 10' 1.0 Hotley this guy is going to be super clean

Crew Jr. 10' 1.0 Hotley he kept a really killer motley pattern

and then we got this girl too
HARLOW 10' 0.1 Harlequin Motley

Crew 06' 1.0 Motley 66% pos het Kahl albino RIP sire to our hotleys at his best

We can only hope that our Hotleys and Harlequin Motley get a little of the color that dad had. Thanks for the pics RON. We love to keep good lineage on everything so that is nice to have a baby pic of dad. (DH Sharp sunglow harlequins) Thanks for that.

Hey Ron. There are only two people that have any Prodigy Boas to take pictures of. One never posts here and the other is a hit and miss kingsnake Boa forum reader. That would be me. I could have easily missed this request, but would have been happy to send you pictures if I knew you needed them.

Anyhow, I did happen to see this so I figured I'd post a few pictures including some you did not ask for that are extreme examples of Boa appearances that are all genetic, even if the complete picture is not yet understood for all of them.

collection. I am trying to present a short list of the most basic boa mutations--with a case study of the T mutation towards the end of the unit (this is the reason for all the T lines). I know your Sharp/Prodigy did not make it, but I cannot recall the name given to the combo. Anyway, it should be fun for the kids.
