Male or female behavior

Linda G Oct 31, 2010 12:29 PM

Hi all,

I set my reptile room up a little differently and as a result
my adopted beardie can see my uromastyx. I always thought this was a female due to its small size but my beardie was black and was head bobbing at him. I ended up having to cover the front as it was really getting agitated. I thought this was male behavior? Do females behave this way?

Thanks, Linda

The easy answer is YES. Their beards just don't get as dark as males and it pretty much ends with the beards. Males get pitch black from the tip of their lip down onto their chests.

Do they head bob like crazy?

Yes both males and females do. I have Uro's too and Beardies think they are food.
