I just rescued a snake form a guy at work who was going to release it.
I have a few ball pythons, and materials to provide whatever temps it needs, but I do not know what kind of snake it is.

Please ID so I can read up.

It's a corn snake, can't tell the morph from that photo. Their care is extremely simple.

Looks like a corn snake to me.

Escape proof the heck out of the cage.

I got an exo terra cage with it.
With locking front doors(feels decently secure) and the screen lid feels really secure, should I velcro strap the doors just in case?

That should be ok. I just know (from experience) that corns are notorious escape artists.

Corn snake...82 degrees warm end...they eat anything, live or f/t usually. What kind of bedding is that? Aspen is best.

It came on coconut coir bedding.
I also have cypress mulch immediately available, which is better?

LibertyReptiles Nov 01, 2010 10:40 AM

Either of those should be ok to.

There are spaces between the background and the wall and holes above the background and in the screen for wires. The "albino corn" could get out thru that.
