Eye color of BEL ?

jeverett Nov 01, 2010 10:58 PM

Last year (09)I produced a beautiful BEL from my lesser x lesser. I am raising her up. She is super cool and is amazingly white following sheds. But I have never felt she has blue eyes. If the following pic opens (which is a pic I took when she was a baby with a flash), you can see her eyes. I have never seen in person a BEL blue eyes. Are some simply not blue? Or does 'blue' vary? Thanks for any info...Jim

It does seem to be a greyish blue rather then a bright blue, but to me they seem to be blue. heres a pic of one of ours at 100 grams from this year.

Looks very dark to me... but I have never had a chance to get a close look at any ballpython leucies...the only one I seen up close is the leucistic Texas rat snake I used to own. His eyes were a more 'baby blue' than dark blue.

I've got eight BELs of varying genetics, and all of their eyes range in colour from lighter blue to an almost dark steel blue. But they're all blue.
