Opinions on Ralphs new flatline morph?

steelcityexotics Nov 02, 2010 10:34 PM

I know im not the only one out there that can not quit thinking about that bright yellow jewel that Ralph teased us with a short video clip of last week so I figured I would see what everyone is thinking it is.

I know everyone is thinking that there is clown in this morph but I have a different opinion. I think it could be spider. Just take a look at the dorsal striping. It does look like a clown but keep in mind what the spider calicos look a lot like this pattern. They have a very similar pattern down their backs.

Then if you look at Ralphs birthing records from 07 clutch #58 he produced a male that he calls a banana bird eater. It was a spider cross that was very clean and yellow. I think he might have ran the banana bird eater back to mom and produced a super banana bird eater. I could be way off here but that’s my guess. Let me know what you guys think. im not thinking spider, but im not saying its clown either. it does bear some resemblance to the banana bird eater. but if you look at the pic it has voids in the strip and you wont find that with the spider. it could be a completely different pattern mutation that we havnt seen yet.
what i am wondering is where the yellow came in from. could it be a super pastel enchi (reduced pattern)spider (reduced pattern) clown?
that is gonna be my guess for now, either way its the hottest snake ever produced.

Reread what he posted and check out the pictures of the mother on eggs. My guess is its a pastel enchi clown. The mother is (pastel sib 04) but shes really light so maybe she is a pastel that he over looked. I believe this was a multi sire clutch with enchi het clown/ lesser het clown. hence my guess.

I am now more confused then ever. If you look through all the birthing records since 04 when the mother of that clutch was born there is no record of her being bred until the 2010 season. I highly doubt it took Ralph 5 years to get her up to size to breed. Im thinking she was bred and he made the clutches classified. I did see that he had enchi het clowns back in 08 so there is a possibility that he had the females up to size to make an enchi clown cross. I am tired of looking at all this I wish he would just tell us already lol.

I was thinking of something along the banana bird eater and maybe enchi clown.... we'll find out one day. I'm sure it has something going on genetically that no one knows of yet. He's pretty good at crossing in project animals and might have hit on something new in that mix.

I don't think he produced it...I bet he got it from someone else...I bet its got clown in it though for sure...

Could it be from clutch 84 - 2010?

If you look back through the birthing records, the mom of this clutch posted above http://www.ralphdavisreptiles.com/birthing_record/pythons_9.asp is 04 Pastel Sib Female 1 for the year, and her mom is a CH female whos pic is also posted on the record. He calls it a "Jungle-ish" female but he could have proven it to be Enchi or something else, with the mom of this clutch proving out to be a low quality Pastel?? Just a thought.....
