Don't like my pets don't get my votes Rubio was one of the only 2 republicans I voted for btw. A move that blows my long time staunch conservative family's mind (they still don't get the libertarian thing.).

thing, are often those who want their own "thing" (hobby, vice, interest, etc) to be allowed, but want other peoples' "things" to be controlled. They don't see the connection between being allowed to pursue their own interests and beliefs, and allowing EVERYONE to do their "thing" - as long as it is not TRULY dangerous to others - whether that individual sees value in it or not.

So if they want to control moral / religious issues (usually related to sex or family life), they elect Republicans, and if they want to control environmental or social "justice" ( animal rights agenda, wealth redistribution, etc), then they vote Democrat. Of course, those are just general guidelines, not absolutes in every case - there certainly is some crossover.

But if a voter thinks they have no business regulating the private life of citizens in their own homes, then they get the "Libertarian thing".
