Do you have to cool fat tails before breeding and if so, how long?

Mine have been off the heat just because the power has been off, but I know they breed in the winter and I was wondering if I should leave it off so they can start breeding.

I dont mess around with the temp in my tanks and they breed like rabbits or better. My male fat tails go after anything in the tank a few times a day. Don't know how they can keep it up but they do. If anything I have to take the male out to give the girls a break. When its time to breed they will breed. YOu can hear them sniff the females then the tail will flick around and then they go after the female and nibble her, most likely bite slightly and hold on till they can get on and hook up. You'll think its funny that you ever worried about temps and cooling down periods etc. once you see them going at it. I've never had a problem with getting them to breed. Getting the eggs to make it is another story Fat tail eggs are more fragile than Leo eggs and will mold up easier. The babies are also smaller and more fragile than the Leo's. But once you get that down you'll be very happy with the results. Fat tails are very easy to keep and maintain.
Here is a photo i took long ago of one of my fat tails hatching. Once in awhile I get lucky and catch them in action. Makes a mommy so proud
