Question for CE

Hi there. I saw all of your beautiful BCC over in the boa forum and saw you selling some off after you got your GTP. Then I came over here and saw that you have more than a couple more of them. I have many BCI but have always loved GTPs and have been looking at acquiring one for quite some time. I was just wondering if you could tell me how you find them in relation to your boas- as far as care, feeding, etc? Obviously, you're having a good time with them but would like some details about what you've noticed having owned both species. Sorry for the long post.

I still have quite a few BCC. Honestly caring for the chondros compaired to caring for big strong BCC is a no brainer. I love the BCC, but when they hit 7' - 10' simple tasks like cleaning cages becomes alot of work, not to mention the amount of space those 4'-6' cages eat up. In the future I will expand the chondro collection and slim down on all the boas. Chondros are great and as long as you stick to the books you will have no problems raising them. Remember to buy captive bred chondros from a reputable breeder. Imports or farmed animals can be alot of work and if you are not experienced treating parasites it can lead to an unexpected death. I say go for it .. I am gonna try to do both, but I don't need 20 suris like I used to have. On the flip side 20 chondros would take up 1/3 the space and about 1/3 the time.

Good Luck !

I totally understand. My favorite time with my boas is when they're babies until they hit about 5 feet. After that even the most routine chores become time consuming. I think I am going to give it a go and see what happens. Thanks for your advice.
