2 from the front door

snakeeyes1618 Nov 04, 2010 10:23 AM

So I am not a huge fan of taking aniamls from the wild. BUT when they show up on the front door and looking all skinny and pathetic and look the way these 2 did. I could resist.

I live in the west Orlando area. And i still find it interesting how Polymorhic corns can be. these 2 look so completely different.

Opinions:

Very grey something I would consider to be a miami phase

And this one speaks for itself

Thanks,

Both very pretty snakes Scott! I really like the bottom one. The top one is no ugly duckling either. You gotta love Florida, one of my best breders was found by my wife in a kitchen drawer. She thought it was one of my domesticated snakes that had got loose, lol. He was a rust peach color and has turned a bit darker with age but he gives me killer red babies! Central Florida has some of the best Corn snakes IMO. Doug gave me a long term captive he found in the Melborne area, and she is a huge beauty that resembles the Miami Corns also. Good luck with them. Are they a pair?

I have found a handful around here and these 2 just stood out. I am not sure if they are a pair. I am almost sure the bottom one is a male and the miami animal is female....but I am not 100% sure until I probe them.....I will have to bring them over to someone I know who has a kit......not very good at poping

Yeah, that area seems to be pretty diverse with it's phenotypes as he mentioned. But then again, so are many corns in different areas of their huge range..LOL!

For the original poster, here is a VERY red individual that a buddy of mine captured at a turnpike toll plaza office in Orlando a while back that I bred a hypo lavender to. Jorge, you certainly already know about this one.

here is one of the nice youngster's I held back last year that now resides at Jorge's crib..LOL!

Beautiful aniamls as always. They look like a couple of other aniamls that i own that have that bright red with small saddles.

Caught is a funny word. I found both of them the dead of winter on my front porch. The Greyer one was really skinny and ate a f/t pink the night i cought it. Gotta love corns

LOL!!,..yeah, I guess the term "caught" is very relative sometimes..HAHAA!

Like the time my buddy "caught" a corn that fell right on his head when he opened his rodent/snake building door!

Oh!, and the other person here on the forum that "caught" a corn in their mail box..LOL!

I know man!,.....

I am guessing that the 50% hypo lavender's you will get will probably have some real nice red/pink backgrounds, and the hypo's/het lavender will follow suite with nice reds as well.

Yes, should be QUITE interesting for sure!
