Well, There are others here with a better head for genetics than me, but Utramel is an Ultra x Amel, and fire is Bloodred x Amel, so what ever you get, they should all be Amel with a combination of the other genes in the mix. I have my cornsnake Calcuator on the other computer but you should get a variety of babies, from Fires to Ultramel diffused, normal looking Bloodreds, a range of poss hets with each baby. Post a picture of the pair if you can. I'd love to see them

You will get 50% ultramel diffuseds, and 50% fires.
That's interesting no Normal bloodreds? Hey anybody have a link to a more updated corn Calculator? Mine must be a bit old, cause it doesn't have ultra as a choice.

Is that it is compatible to amel. When an ultramel is bred to amel you get all utlramels and amels. Therefore, a bloodred ultramel bred to a bloodred amel will produce bloodred ultramels and bloodred amels. No normals. Apparently ultramel and amel are compatible and on the same allel??

It's not that ultramel and amel are compatible, it's that ultra and amel are. Those two separate genes exist in the same location and when found in het form together they produce an 'in between' level of hypomelanism.
An animal that is an ultra, for example, can *not* be het for amel. And an animal that is an amel can *not* be het for ultra. But if you breed a homozygous ultra to a homozygous amel, you'll get a clutch that consists entirely of ultramels. And if you breed two ultramels together, you'll get 25% ultras, 25% amels, and 50% ultramels.

Ultra and ultramel can be confusing....I like your explanation...
to the point and easy to understand

I think that's what he meant to say. These are much like the T-Neg and Peanut Butters in the Brooks King morphs then.
T-Neg x PB = all Jellies, in first generation.

there you go...of course it may not fall exactly 50/50 but you are right.
