Animal (rights) Planet is on Craigslist!

Ravenspirit Nov 05, 2010 01:09 PM

Advertising in Harrisburg PA of all places. Have others seen them advertise elsewhere?

http://harrisburg.craigslist.org/pet/2044011011.html

It says - "How many pets in your house?"

How many Pets do you have living in your house? How Many Pets Are Too Many?

Do you have more than 18 animals? Do you feel overwhelmed by keeping so many pets? If so, we want to hear from you!

We're producing a new documentary series about people with really large animal families (18 ).

If you or someone you know is overwhelmed with their number of pets please share your story with us at http://www.petfamily.org/ or contact us at realstories@petfamily.org / 1-877-MY8-PETS.

If needed, we can offer expert help, veterinary care, house cleaning and any other solutions that might be appropriate.

Its for their "new show" - http://animal.discovery.com/the-spot/casting-couch/full-list/too-many-pets.html

Just a heads up about it basically, I wouldn't suggest anyone contact them, as they have managed to put a negative spin on anything else they have gotten their hooks into recently.

The advertisement clearly states their intent to portray such situations in a negative light. Who in their right mind would want such a biased unflattering portrayal?

Or possibly people who pressure others into such a situation.

Gee, who knew that Animal Planet would be fishing for suckers!

That fish is beautiful.
AP, portraying the few with serious issues as the norm. Since when is the third standard deviation the median? Only in AR statistics.
I say, Horse Pucky to that!

Yes, they are spamming just about every Craigslist city site. I encourage everyone to repeatedly flag their ads if they see them on their local Craigslist.
They've tried spamming many reptile forums too, including here on KS.

I would suggest you stop looking for band members on craigslist and going off to the other forums.
You will have much better luck with bandmix or muscian's forest. Craigslist is for the most part a waste of time.

They are posting everywhere, not just craigs list. They did a blog post about this here, however reception was not so great. The community kinda lashed out, so now they are reaching out to others who are not so tightly connected.

It shouldn't be hard for them to find some shameless idiots looking for their moment of fame. Reality TV is full of morons that don't mind showing how ignorant they are for the spotlight.
Just one more sad commentary of the America we now live in.
