Can a large Cuban Rock regenerate the tip of its tail? I just noticed today that mine has lost about 1/2" of the tip of its tail. I dont know what happened to cause it. Bummed.

It can regrow, but will likely not. The younger the ig, the better the chance for it to grow back. If it does regrow, it will usually be about half the original length. Very common for necrosis to occur to the tips of the tails if an iguana is exposed to cold weather.

Thanks for the response. He may have gotten it caught between some wood or rock in his enclosure. I am thinking that it is more likely that he damaged it when he was shipped here about 6 weeks ago and it is just now dropping off. He is 5 years old. Thankfully it was a very small piece.
