I have a yearling male rhino ig for 3 months. When I first got him I had him in an outdoor cage in the summer.I left him alone except for feeding and cleaning. He went nuts every time I went near the cage. One day when I opened the cage he ran out and ran by my neighbors house.I chased him around the house unable to get him. When i just about gave up my neighbor said he was in his garage(luckily the door was open)I caught him with a net.Ever since then every time I go near or in the cage he looks at me raises his body and bounces all over the cage.I tried handling him to see if he would calm down but he hisses and bites.Obviously hes scared and defensive.(His cage is now indoors)I know rhinos are hard to tame but what do i do?Do I just feed him ,dont try to handle him till he commes around.I see so many nice calm rhinos on this forum.Do they all start that way.If I have to wait it out thats fine.I just dont want a bigger scarier rhino down the road. They are very cool animals.HELP!joe

he is acting normal for his age...just give him space... also you can try not to look at him when you clean and feed him etc.. this shows him that you are not targeting him as an predator.

less is more.. he will come around..

Search the forum for many identical stories and responses...
Here are the typical helpful bits:
1. less is more (already mentioned)
2. 2 years is a magical time
3. They have the "prey" switch flipped in their brains right now
4. Don't approach from above
5. Do not force yourself on them, they have long memories.

I am sure there are others I forgot, but you're in good shape if you follow 1 rule above all, *Be patient*

No patient = No tame

Are you sure you have a captive hatched iguana ? It sounds like one of the less calm of the clutch.

yes.I got him from reptile store.I was able to handle him when i got him.Alot of people on this forum say this is normal when they are young. That is why I'm concerned.
