Adios Mendoza

natsamjosh Nov 07, 2010 07:09 PM

Well, after a few months of "slipping through the cracks" (and lame other excuses), Fed Ex finally finalized my account for shipping live snakes. So Mendoza now has a new home, where he will have a girlfriend to mess around with. Hopefully he'll be able to make little Mendoza's. I'm gonna miss the little guy, he is in many ways the perfect pet snake. Got some pics and let the neighborhood kids handle him before he left. (The little girl holding him in the picture below is about 7 years old, and she knows more about snakes than probably 98% of adults.)

Adios, mi amigo!

Thanks,
Ed

This might be my all time favorite picture of him...

Thanks. He was coiled around his prey when I took that shot, giving me the evil eye to get out of the room. He will not eat if anyone is watching!

Thanks,
Ed

Thanks Jeff. He is an awesome snake, his pattern is still as clean and crisp as it was when I got him from you. I actually had him at work the other day before I shipped him, and a friend of mine said this was the first snake he's ever seen that he thought was actually pretty. So Mendoza was a good diplomat right up 'til I shipped him.

Thanks,
Ed

Feel free to keep posting picks of him from time to time. I've always loved your photographs of Mendoza.

Thanks Paul, I appreciate it. I invited his new owner to post pics of him and his new girlfriend here, so hopefully we'll continue to see him as well as another ARB.

Thanks,
Ed

>>Sorry to hear he's leaving home, Ed, but sounds like he has a great new home, stunning new wife, and the chance to make dozens on dozens of little youngsters to continue the family line. What a wonderful holiday present to him! You done good....

Thanks Cliff. If he does sire some babies, I might get one of them. If it's a male, I definitely will have to name him "Junior."
