Haven't been on here in awhile. I think in the next year or so I'll be getting a pair of V. Tristis. Just trying to do my research now and do it right this time. I used to have a pair of blackthroats, but due to bad living arrangements I sadly had to get rid of them a couple of years ago. Now that I'm on the path of a steady job and income, I'm almost ready to get back into it. Out of all the reptiles I've had over the years, my blackthroats were definitely my favorite. But, being where I am now, I can't house such a big lizard haha so I'm scaling down (no pun intended). Also living in Massachusetts, I have to get a permit, no biggy though. I used to be an animal control officer (and still would be if I had a good driving record) and I'm still very friendly with all of my old contacts. I've been doing a lot of reading and I've pretty much narrowed it down to 2 species, V. Tristis and the ackies monitors (can't remember the scientific name off the top of my head). I'm leaning more towards th ackies though, because I love arboreal monitors. I'm not "new" to monitors, but I'm certainly no frank retes. I know basic husbandry, but I've never had an arboreal monitor. I assume basking temps are the same, but what about ambient in a tall enclosure? And humidity? If there are any other things you think I should know about Tristis monitors or if you think that there is a better species out there that would suit me better, let me know. I'm looking for something arboreal and doesn't get to big, I was thinking a 4Lx4Wx6T enclosure. I really like peach throats, but I not sure if that size enclosure would be to small for a pair of them.

Thanks in advance for the comments and advice
