About flying with a reptile...

Jeremy Sep 26, 2003 12:32 PM

Has anyone ever bought a reptile out of state, and flown back with it? If so, can you actually take the reptile on board, or is it still put in cargo and shipped as it would be as if you had just ordered it?
I ask, because I'm taking a short trip to Florida and there is a reptile store near where I am going. If I see any reptiles I want, I would like to take the animal on board with me, and not worry about shipping costs and problems.
The reptile would be some sort of colubrid or small boa.
Thanks for helping.

I think that if you get caught trying to bring a snake on board a plane with you, it will probably be something you'll regret for a long while, especially now with the security in place since 9/11.

You would be better off to have the reptile dealer ship it back to you. He may even be able to get it on your flight, if that's important. He can probably save you money though, if you just let him ship it by his normal means.
