Pepsi is hosting a contest to help fund worthy social-program ideas. Every month they accept 1000 ideas submitted to their website. those deemed most worthy are put on their website in seperate categories (based on the amount the idea needs) and users are allowed to vote on them, and the ones with the highest votes get the money.

THE HSUS IS CURRENTLY IN THE LEAD FOR $250,000

I don't think I need to explain to anyone here why the HSUS does not need any more money. check out the link and help vote them out of first place.

Huge Statements Useless Staff....lol..j/k...I don't even know what it means anymore. I have tried to forget about them.

The Humane Society of the United States. They pass themselves off as an animal rescue organization, but they are pretty much just PETA under a different tax exempt code. they have openly stated they want to end the keeping of reptiles in the US.

If we would police ourselves maybe people would leave us alone. Just a thought. Like with big snakes such as retics and burms. If breeders micro chipped animals and made buyers register into a data base accepting responsibility of proper care and housing of said animal and being reliable for any escapes into the wild, I bet most people would leave us alone. Not to mention that they would then have no ground to stand on.

Like I said just a thought. They are going to continue to try and pass laws against animal owners, and they will succeed in passing them unless we do something. What we've been doing lately isn't going to work much longer.

We do need to police ourselves and come up with industry standards.

That being said, having dealt with plenty of animal rights activists in the past, I don't think for a second that they would leave us alone. these are people with an agenda to end anything they seem as "cruel' to animals, and their belief is that the keeping of animals in captivity is cruel. they're focusing on reptile keepers right now because it is a small enough segment of the pet industry that they can single us out and go in for the kill. If they end reptile keeping, they'll just go next for birds or large dog breeds and work their way down the line.

HSUS and PETA are animale worshiping cults, They can't stand to see thier gods in cages. They WIll NOT leave animale owners, hunters, trappers, fishermen, farmers, ranchers, medical labs or anyone else that has anything to do with animales alone.

I've been spending the 10 daily votes on 2-11 in the $250k tier since I found out about this yesterday in hopes to help displace HSUS. It sickens me to think that such a despicable organization is currently beating out some causes that are actually worthwhile. Of course, I don't exactly agree with Pepsi for having a popularity contest in the name of philanthropy either...

When you go to the pepsi site, click on the 250,000 category, then resort them by the ones who are leading. HSUS is currently #1, so I voted on the #2 which was helping children with Cystic Fibrosis. Voting for just "anything" won't do as much good as voting for one that could beat them and is a great cause to boot. Problem is you have to give your email so you can only vote as many times as how many emails you have. Maybe it will let you vote more than once on same email, unsure, will try.
