and before dean starts something...i'll tell you right now that an adult yt will destroy any kingsnake!! LOL! one almost killed me once.....good luck and keep up the great work you've been doing!
Terry V. once saw an indigo kill and eat a large adult brooksi.
He also told me a story of an indigo that killed and adult racer and TORE IT IN HALF in the process (twisting and yanking)
Many years ago I used to occasionally feed my Easterns freshly road-killed snakes...Corn Snakes, Rat Snakes, Racers...even an occasional Diamondback if I found one. Even though the snake was already dead, you would not believe the thrashing they would give it. They would sometimes be simultaneously swallowing it and beating it against the side of the cage. Sometimes they would pin it with their body against the side of the cage and pull like hell on it's head, occasionally almost ripping the head off. They are definitely NOT gentle to other snakes. I don't do that anymore, mostly because I don't find nearly as many road kills any more, but I wouldn't be opposed to picking them up and freezing them for a couple of weeks, then feeding them. It makes a nice treat for Dry's every once in a while...probably good for them too, as long as you don't introduce parasites.
Looks like it could be an Outer Banks cribo. Enjoy raising him up.
I still think you should have taken one of the others that have the darker bodies and orange tails, but I'm glad you like him.
Nice pics.
Bobby

Hope you enjoy your Cribo........... how many Outerbanks did you produce this year?? Mine were the only pair of Kings that DIDN'T produce she laid 16 eggs, but within 2 weeks they looked like white prunes

Good choice...Y/T's are awesome animals.
I know, I know, you just wanted a place to get away from that whole hybrid foolishness...
Well said Old Herper.
Keith, nice pic and **WELCOME**, the people here are frankly cool as hell. Congrats on choosing drymarchon in your collection.

Can echo most of those here who have already responded. To be honest our first animal as a couple was a speckled king. We're both very fond of him. B, my spousal unit introduced me to Drys. From then on it's been nothing else. I like the commitment Dry fans seem to have to keeping bloodlines pure and being honest to the breed(s). All the folks here are involved in conservation in one fashion or another and further, are interested in placing animals in educational settings and the like.
Welcome aboard!
Regards,
J.
