roach nymphs??

mbmcewen Sep 26, 2003 02:27 PM

I feed my cham lobster roaches and they breed faster than he eats. can I feed the nymphs to the darts? Even if it is okay it may not be possible as the roaches will climb up and out of the tank...just a thought though

Thanks

This was discussed here a while back and the majority of us feel that it would be OK to feed them. Just be sure that the nymphs are rough;y the same size as fruitflies. I'm not 100% on this, but maybe vit/cal dusting the roaches will slow them down a bit so that they are eaten before they get the chance to climb up the glass. I've never fed with roaches before (in fact I cant stand them) but I don't see an immediate problem.

One problem could be if any escapees start breeding in the frog viv. This would be bad news.

true but the nymphs are way too young to breed and they would probably die of starvation before they grew that large....but I definitely do not want them escaping
