Baby Mangrove not eating, Help!!!

Reesy Nov 18, 2010 07:33 AM

I've had a baby Mangrove Monitor for 3 weeks now and I still cannot get it to eat. I've tried ground turkey plain and with raw egg mixed with it and raw catfish bites. Temp in the enclosure is kepy 80-90 degrees. Humidity is 35%. The guy I got it from says not to worry so much about the humidity as much as temp and feeding. Can I get some help please. Any inputs will be more than welcomed.

can you describe your enclosure in detail.Mangrove Monitors are forest monitors extended exposure to dry climate can have serious consequences, especially babies which are more prone to dehydration.Have you tried feeding crickets?read some of the recent posts they run all gamuts of care and links, all of which applies Moe

Your temp and humidity are VERY low. Too low!

You have fundamental husbandry deficiencies. Check out our site, the caresheet and FAQ section, and apply the Water monitor husbandry there.

Setups, moisture levels, temps, diet, all is applicable to your Mangrove, which is not going to last long under the given conditions.

Best of luck.
