going to the vet

elykyllek Sep 26, 2003 03:55 PM

I'm going to be taking my new mali in for a checkup at the local reptile vet, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with her, but I'd like a professional opinion, and it would be nice to get a rough estimate on the age, and find out what the sex is.

Anyway my question is what would you guys recommend for transporting it. Its about a 25 minutes away, so I want to be able to keep its temperature up and make sure its comfortable. Its pretty healthy now so I'd rather have this trip not cause it to become sick.

Thanks

When I transport my uro, I put a water bottle in a regular cat carrier or box. Make sure you put VERY warm water in it. Seems to stay hot long enough for the trip. Also then wrap a towel or something light around it so that they can snuggle up with it or lay on it without getting too hot.

Even if they do become a little cool, they will just be calm and sleepy. I'm sure he will be just fine for the visit .

Good luck!

I hadn't thought of the water bottle idea, thanks!
