Hello Group,
I am just curious if snakes grow in length and girth between sheds, or do they just put and mass (girth) and then get longer after their shed?
Thanks for your help,
Justin

Justin, there are a great many snake books out there right now that can bring you up to speed alot faster than the forum. PM me and I will recommend some. That said, skin is renewed by shedding. Growth occurs in all directions but if you can imagine the guts getting bigger, the vertebrae getting bigger it will give you a better idea of how and why snakes shed. We look at only the outside of the snake but its the whole thing that is growing.

Hello Justin, great questions you've been asking btw.
Below is a link of a site that will answer your question. Lots of these questions can be "googled" but as you may have found out, or heard, there is an awful lot of misinformation on the web. The site will answer what you want I believe
Nothing beats a good book as has already been pointed out though, good place to look is here on the forum (http://www.kingsnake.com/books/). Great books on any subject you might want.
Books cost though, advice here is free and there are more than a few that never get tired of answering questions for those that so obviously want to do the right thing by their snakes.
