hello everyone. i have a question on price value of a snake. a friend of mine has a 50%pdh for snow. i have no hets for either albino or axanthic so i will be breeding her to my het for normal boy. now i also need money to pay for the pdh. what would be the price value of 33%pdh for snow males and females? if anyone out there may help me out or is interested please let me know.

The price would be that of a "typical" normal ball python. In other words whatever it's actually worth to you to have a CBB baby ball. The odds that your friend has a het of some kind are very good, His snake could be a double het, a het albino, a het axanthic or a normal. possible albino hets are just slightly higher right now then normals, and my personal feelings about axanthics is that it would actually be a detriment rather then a positive. (axanthics are just plain mud ugly if you ask me) So I would pay what a normal CBB ball costs. But the time it would take to prove out a possible, possible, double het is so far in the future that if you are expecting to actually make money at this, you might wish to pass (unless you're in it for the fun of it.) Have fun with whatever you decide.

I would think that possible double het for snow FEMALES from reliable sources are pretty pricey. I don't even remember seeing one for sale (if I did, it was probably out of my price range). Of course the big concern is if you can verify that she really is a possible double het.

I don't even remember exactly what I paid for my possible double het male but it was a good deal at several hundred dollars a few years back and I think I’ve seen them for more since. So far he has proven to be het for albino and it will be at least two more years before I can even have a shot at proving him to be het Jolliff axanthic (unless someone wants to loan me a het Jolliff girl to try him on).

If you get the female and you think she might really be legit then it would be a shame to breed her to a normal male since females are so much more valuable. If she is a hatchling you could save up and try to find a possible double het male of the same axanthic line next year and possible have both ready to breed the following year. Or you could try to find someone local to wherever you are with a for sure double het male willing to do a breeding loan.

what i was thinking about doing is getting in contact with a breeder in LA. i noticed on there site that they have a 100% het for albino male along with a normal female for $225-$250. I figured it be worth a shot proving her het for albino and at the same time breeding out some possible hets with the normal female and then proving them. i really can't afford a dh right now so i can only go by proving one at a time.
