Possible Fireball?

demonmyst Nov 21, 2010 02:00 AM

I acquired this snake with no information about origin...go figure!

Well, many people have told me it's definitely a normal, came across a breeder that agrees with me and someone else that it has some pastel on the top.

It's very hard to see it in pictures, but the spine has a yellow in person, and the sides are brown, the yellow is not VERY bright yellow, but it does have yellow(pastel, not normal) in it.

I have seen some pictures of some "crappy" fireballs and wondering if this would be considered one. I'll try and take better pictures if you all think it's close.

Above you can see the color difference.

Definitely looks like a normal to me.

Looks like a normal. That color difference along the spine is fairly common among normals, as is a wide variety of color variation. With the extremely rare exception of a chimera, the snake would either be a pastel or not a pastel, it can't be a partial pastel.

Does it even matter anymore? They are worth about the same anyway. lol

Genetically it sure does. You can't make a Bee with a spider and a normal.

I know what you mean. I have a pet store male that I think might be a fire (has the belly but the head and adult color aren't quite as nice as I think a fire should be). Should just break down and buy a proven line het black eyed lucy but I want to try to prove this guy. Would be a shame if we miss out on some new morphs because the proven ones are so economical now days no one sees the incentive to dink.

Looks normal to me, but I'd "dink" w/it anyhow!

demonmyst Nov 21, 2010 12:18 PM

Yeah, I don't know. I just wasn't sure because I put it next to all my normals and he sticks out like a sore thumb. The others have the normal dark brown while he's like boom, what is that?! Always different than my normal balls. -shrug-

Either way, I'll dink with him probably if we keep him long enough....unless that crazy guy that would consider him a fireball takes him. I wouldn't mind.

It'll be a while...he's '10 or late '09

Fire has a faded head. Make a headshot to compare.

demonmyst Nov 23, 2010 12:01 PM

Actual head doesn't look faded.

-shrug-

I don't even know if I trust that breeder anyways....:]

The ball does always stick out compared to the other balls though....still unsure why..maybe I'll find out when he's an adult.

nephrurus Nov 23, 2010 02:57 PM

Sorry man, its not a fire ball. Its a nice looking snake though.

demonmyst Nov 23, 2010 06:23 PM

At least I got them for free. :]

Can't complain...if it was a fireball it just would of been nice. Still wanting to prove him to some extent, he's weird looking to all the normal balls I've had. (6-7)
