Nice Wide Banded Grayband

alterna1 Nov 21, 2010 08:18 PM

This is a nice wide banded female grayband that I just recently purchased. She is 6 years old and close to 48 inches long and really solid. I bought her from someone in St. Louis, Missouri. The person I got her from had limited info on her and I was wondering if anyone might know more about her?

All I know is she's beautiful, that's exactly what I think of when I hear gray band. She looks really healthy and prime for breeding. Do you have a male to go with her?

Nice looking Alterna, congrats on picking her up... I have a few here that look very similar to yours.. This one hatched out here 2 years back, this is an older pic of her, she is much larger now and should be ready to breed for me next season..

I am not sure what type of info your looking for?

Yes I do have a nice male to put with her this spring and I hope to get some nice babies from her next summer. I'm considering her a non locality but because I'm the third owner was wondering if the original owner had any info on locality or who produced her?
Mike, very nice wide banded blairs! I got two Loma Alta females from you in 2006 and a male and female West Langtry from you in 2009 and they all turned our really nice. The first two pictures are of the West Langtry and the last picture is of one of the Loma Alta.

I don't know what locality you have there, or whether it is locality, but that snake has some of the widest orange bands I've seen. It's a very nice snake.

Shannon, although I haven't probed her yet the tail shape looks female and the guy I got it from took it to the vet for check ups and the vet probed it female. When I get some time I'll probe her myself.
As a side note, here is a picture of one of the nicest females that I produced this year.

Nice neo there. It just loks thick and long to be female but you never know.
Anyway, nice snake regardless.
