Cool "Jungle Look" and some Pastels too!

Hillary Webb Sep 26, 2003 04:44 PM

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to share a photo of a terrific het-clown female ball on breeding loan from VPI. She is so incredible looking that I just had to share a photo of her. The pastels were produced this year from a VPI male with my normal females. I love all that orange!

Thanks for looking!

How common is it for het clowns to look like that?

I've got a 2002 25% chance het stripe girl that isn't near that extream but still a little like her. I don't have any reason to believe she could carry the clown gene but with both of her parients comming from VPI you never know. Both look pretty normal with maybe just a slight bit of eye mark mistchief and white belly in the mom but the 50% chance het stripe father seems compleatly normal looking to me. Anyway I'm going to breed her 3,000 gram mom to a 50% chance het clown with a white belly just in case.

Hi Randy,
Your female is also very cool looking! I don't know if it is something genetic (marker-wise) but the "jungle look" pops up in such weird places. I love it when the het animals are a knockout in their own right. Keep us updated on your results with the stripe/clown/etc. breeding attempts. That will be quite a jaw-dropper animal someday!

What makes a Morph a Clown?
