New hide box... Is this ok?

dubumb Sep 26, 2003 04:54 PM

Hi,

I've done a little redesigning in my leopards' cage. I added a food dish since im using mealies now and i also set up a new humid hide box.

For the hide box i used a shoe box, but i cus it out so it's triangular and it fits perfectly across the whole width of the enclosure... I cus it like a triangular prism and then put a whole in the top (about 3/4" radius) so that way they can climb up the slanted front and enter the hidebox threw the whole. Instead of using wet paper towels, i put sphagnum moss (damp of course) as the humid substrate. They seem to like this more than the towels, i donno why, but they seemed to enjoy playing on it.

Ok, i was just posting this to see if you guys think this design is ok for them?

Thanks.

Sounds very interesting. Do you have any pictures you could post to give me a better idea of what it looks like?

Thanks,
Red

hey,

I will take pictures of it sometime soon hopefully.... But first i need to modify it since it is a little too short on the sides the geckos are trying to climb in between (where the edge is closest to the wall) and they get stuck. But i will get pictures of it soon hopefully...
