Miami corns...

GerardS Nov 23, 2010 11:22 PM

I went out today to look for some ratsnakes and got a nice mix bag. There are so many different colors down in Homestead. The one in the next picture is the only one I will keep but the others are not bad. I was hoping for some fussed saddles but maybe next time. Thanks for looking.

Wow man!,.....you really scored a nice assortment there!

All sorts of phenotypes, and nice Everglades there as well. I see a real cool looking one that resembles a "buckskin" Okeetee in there also.

Congrats on those, and your keeper is real sweet!

I gotta agree with Doug - those are some fine-looking "naturalistic" corns. Not all wild corns are beauties, but those sure are.

I dig those Rat Snakes too - it must be nice to find that kind of stuff in your area.

Yeah, the buckskin looking one is the one that I am keeping. I will take a pic of it out in the sun.

I have 1.2 of those that popped out of my Miami stock! I am very anxious to see what they will look like as adults but they are all three fuzzy eaters, so they are growing slowly. I may cool them later on to see if that gives them a kick in the butt.

You said they are fuzzy eaters. Did you mean fussy eaters?

My babies that are 3 months old are eating fuzzies now.

Yeah I wish they were eating fuzzies, lol. I must have very high levels of triptofan in my system, lol. They barely eat pinkies.

what is the secret to catching that many in one hunt ?

mrkent Nov 24, 2010 08:35 PM

Sometimes I am envious of you guys that can go find cornsnakes nearby, especially this time of year. Here in Vancouver, WA it got up to 30 degrees today.

I think our native snakes are all asleep.
