QUESTION ABOUT BLIZZARD GECKOS?!?!?

bmills May 26, 2003 01:38 PM

I just went to a pet store to pick up a blizzard, they just got it in, it was the only one, and it was about 3 to 4 inches...still young. I stuck my hand in the cage and it hissed and bit me 3 times. Is that normal or not? My other 2 leos that I have are extrememly tame and have enver once hissed or bit. I was just wondering if this is something you can expect or not? Also, how much is a good price for a blizzard? They had it for $80, and that seemd high for a very young blizzard. Thanks for the help.

$80 is a little high but what do you expect, they're a petshop not a specialty shop, and if you would rather see the animal in person than not even seeing it be prepared to pay a bit more. i still think it's a little high though. hope this helps!!!

If I do get this baby blizzard and she is biting me now, will she eventually stop biting and hissing and let me hold her? If so, what would I have to do in order to get her to do this and how long do you think it would take? Thanks again.

not long at all. once theyre in your hand, they usually dont bite, and if they do, no biggy, it does hurt.

Okay, I think I might get her and see if she will stop biting me. One more question...I have 2 leos that are about 6 inches long in a tank, and this blizzard is only about 4 to 4 1/2 inches long, can I put her in with the others, or should I keep her seperate until she grows.

seperate for sure. they will most definatly bully it, maybe even kill it.
