Nice collection of pyros you have there John. The one baby close to the bottom has nearly ALL crossovers. Very nice.
Joe
Yeah I agree. Very nice collection of Pyros.

King Snakes! Who can make a better mouse trap?
J Sierra
Very nice collection of pyros. Love all of those high blacks.
Are your redheads chiricahuas? Love those too. I'm going to have to add some of those to my little collection.

Thanks for the compliments.....

Thanks Jorge....
I have 3.3 in brumation right now......
I've never produced in so I have my fingers crossed for some nice ones next year......Maybe some Sentz line Hypos, Hypoerthristics, Hypo and Hypo-e double homozygot (if I'm lucky), High Whites & Applegate Specials......And some nice normals to boot.....

Thank you Joe....
That very high black one was produced by Dennis Thomas in Florida......One of my favorites along with the Applegate Special Female......
One day I would love to see a Sentz Line Hypo with all those "black" crossovers......

Those are excellent! You get tired of them, you know where to send them...
I am very envious of your photography skills! Your images always come out so sharp and clear.
In my book, the more black crossovers the better! In the twentieth photo from the top it looks like a pair are locked. Is that so?

Yep....
I got a pair from Jeff Teel just before breeding season last year and tried to breed them.....
They hooked up on 4 different occasions, but the female laid 4 slugs. I wish there were fertile because both the adults are 100% Het for Sentz Line Hypo and Possible het for Hypo-E......
Would be cool to see a Sentz Line Hypo / Hypo-E double homozygot.

Heh! I think it would be cool if mine do anything next spring! I don't care what I get as long as it is alive and healthy. The only reptiles I have bred so far are fence lizards, so breeding my snakes will be new territory. Will have lots of newbie questions! LOL!

The only advice I can give you now is feed the heck out of them when they get warmed back up......
Caloric intake in females yields egg follicles.......Then all the male has to do is not shoot blanks.......
Snakes are easier than lizards in my opinion....LOL

Thanks for the sound advice! I look forward to the warm up and resumption of feeding! I spent all day today catching up on mouse tub washing, which got postponed due to snow and freezing temperatures. I've got gobs of mice; the mice like the cool weather. I am down to one '09 gopher snake and my 8 baby pyros who are still eating. Kind of frustrating to have big handfuls of plump fuzzies and only one snake left to eat them! Fortunately I have a market for the surplus.

My designated mouse freezer is full! For some reason when ever I breed anything I always seem to get a lot of whatever it is. I hope this carries over to the breeding of the snakes! LOL!

At least four children? you're not sure exactly how many?
That is one area where I have not been prolific. Just as well, other folks have taken up the slack on that one.

Do your children help you with your snakes? If I had any children I would make them do the mouse tub washing chores!
