gaigeae hatching

westernNC Nov 26, 2010 05:17 PM

It took 93 days, but these big beauties are starting to appear from their huge eggs. I purchased the parents of these guys from Dennis Mountain a few years back and I understand that Dennis got his from Dave Niles. Amazing snakes and puppy dog tame right out of the egg!

Thanks for looking!
Michael

Sweet congratulations. How many eggs? You'll have to post pics of the whole clutch when done.

She laid 10. All were good. Will definitely snap a few photos of the clutch when they are all out.

Thanks,
Michael

Congratulations Michael!! Those look like big beautiful baby gaigeae! Glad you didn't give up on that female you had. She pulled through for you.

Dave, I sometimes wish I hadn't changed my mind about getting a pair from you a couple of years ago. Those are beautiful adults you had.

I really like the alternas I got instead, though.

I was really surprised that she laid so late in the year, but a nice clutch of Thanksgiving gaigeae is something to be thankful for!

I appreciate all of the advice on these guys this year!

Thanks Dell,
The snake in that photo is amazing. Is this photo gaigeae? Mine seemed to turn black on the red bands first, resulting in an almost black and white snake, before turning solid black.

Thanks,
Michael

Michael,
It is a gaigeae in the above photo, and I have another Black-milk doing just what you're talking about, white and black with most the red filled in.

Thanks for the post Michael. I never get tired of seeing the SA Milks... especially gaigeae. Your first one is a pretty little thing, hope you post the others when you can.
