Anyone else get a letter from Delta?

dbherp Nov 28, 2010 11:18 AM

I've been a verified shipper with Delta for over 5 years, I can't remember exactly when I signed up. I haven't shipped with Delta in many months and I recently moved. Not sure if either of those things are related but I was wondering if I'm the only one who got this. I got a form letter today stating the following:

November 10, 2010

Greetings,

Delta Cargo would like to thank you for shipping with us throughout the years. We have reviewed your shipping records, and are unable to assist you with your shipping needs at this time. The Transportation Security Authority (TSA) now requires that all air cargo carriers use their KSMS program as the primary method of making a shipper known. Your information was submitted and their system concluded that your company is not currently known in their database. The TSA continues to perform known shipper validations through their website; however site visit validations are no longer an option for making companies known.

The KSMS database may have made this conclusion based on incorrect company information in their database. This might have been caused by an error in your company name or address on your Known Shipper record with us. If this is the case, you can resubmit a new Known Shipper request form, which can be found at www.deltacargo.com.

There are still opportunities to move your freight on Delta Cargo by shipping with a Freight Forwarder. Freight Forwarders can be located through a web search or in your local air cargo directories.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and wish you the best of luck with your shipping needs.

Best regards,
Delta Cargo

Personaly I think this whole TSA thing is getting out of hand. We are giving up way to many rights to try and feel safer. Nothing they do makes me feel safer, that's for sure. Honestly, what are they preventing?

I ship with Delta all the time and I've never had to submit any kind of validation.

You might be a ball python fanatic if you subconsciously convert the price of virtually everything in to units of piebald ball pythons

Got the exact same letter. I shipped as recently as last month, and have been a varified shipper for close to 8 years.

To the breeders who have received this letter, does your business have a tax id on file? Maybe the government is using the TSA to help try to get at uncollected revenues and shut down the small breeders who don't report income from reptile sales.
