bone47 Nov 29, 2010 09:26 PM

I love Florida Kings and all the morphs. Can you fellas post some pics of your best and brightest? After lurking here for sometime seems to be the most prevelant subspecies being kept.

Thanks. She was around 5.5' and about 4 pounds. A big girl. She died in 2008 at 15 years old. She produced well over 150 offspring in her time and I still have one pair from her 2002 clutch.

Yeah I'm curious too Brandon! What's the scoop on those? I though it may have been from the New England line, but the females don't usually look that good.

These have nothing to do with the NE line. These actually came from the Lemke line of axanthics, although as mentioned before, they are only hets. I still have a nice pair of Whites, but they have been very inconsistent over the last few years.

Doug, many thought she was axanthic, but she was a normal het. for axanthic. I had an even bigger female I got from Dave B. several years ago. They were about the same size when I got Dave's girl. After a couple of years, the girl I got from Dave, which was a dh ghost, was MUCH bigger. She was close to 6' and around 6 lbs. I'll see if I can't find a good pic of her. Her last clutch was 24 or 25 eggs.

hey, how are you doing brandon?

when i sent that girl to you she was tiny, lol. you made her into one heckuva snake... there must be something in the air out there. somewhere around there is a pic you took of her on a blue sheet or blanket, probably the best pic i have seen of a cb brooksi. i always did like big girls and that girl was something else.

i'm completely out of snakes right now but i still check in once in a while. very flattering some folks still remember me, lol. there sure were many interesting times on this forum.

so, enough of that, how's life and music treating you these days?

Thanks for more pics of those awesome animals Brandon!

Gosh!,...looking at the white brooksi as a hatchling, you would never guess in your wildest dreams that it would mature into such an outstanding pale-white animal!. That is why I have held onto a good number of youngsters, to actually SEE what they become as they mature..LOL!

Their freakin ontogenetic change from hatchlings can be from mild to WILD!, and simply boggle the mind sometimes!..LMAO!

Love that sulfur and the other's too man!

Thanks Doug. They bred in 2009, but the female refused to have anything to do with the male in 2010. I've never had a "common king" refuse to breed like that before. they are both over 4 ft long and in great health. Here's hoping for a better 2011.

I think folks like Tom, Rainer, Jeff and Doug and those that have snakes from these folks have the best ones ON THIS FORUM, but you guys know that is just a tiny fraction of the percentage of folks that are breeding Floridana.......There's probably a 12 year old from Wisconsin that has some just as nice as everyone here.....LOL

They are rather easy to breed, feed and keep......
