Breeding Question?

JMo Dec 01, 2010 07:28 AM

I've put my het albinos together twice now and have observed two locks; two for two. My question - how long do I continue to put them together? When should I stop?

Thanks in advance for any advice and suggestions.

Jim

There's no real set maximum time. I usually stop pairing when one of 3 things happens:

1-It gets into mid february or so (this one is the most variable, some folks keep breeding way later than this)

2-I see obvious signs that the female is gravid

3-they start treating each other like they have a major case of the cooties.

Just keep doing what you're doing, and good luck.

There sare two reasons you stop breeding:
1. The female ovulates.
2. The female begins re-absorbing her follicles.

I'm glad I now know the two reasons I stop breeding. I must have had myself mixed up with some other version of me. Won't happen again, chief.
