hi,i see pics of cages where a brown paper material is being used as the substrate.what is this?is it just a roll of brown paper or deli paper etc?thanks for the help.

I'm sure there are multiple places to buy it, but I have bought sheets of this from uline.com
go to their site and search kraft paper sheets or indented kraft paper.
I know there are other similar products, some that come in rolls that you can cut to size yourself and also in different thicknesses.. but uline.com is the only one that I can name off hand.

Even the kraft paper is a little bumpy compared to newspaper and its better traction and helps at shed time better than newspaper.

I just switched to a corragated cardboard liner. Can be ordered at the same supplier as mentioned in the previous response but has many advantages over craft paper. It has ridges that snakes can actually grab hold of which results in better muscle tone vs the slick paper and also holds moisture better.

I also use ULINE's corrugated wrap. Got a 3-foot x 250-foot roll of it.

Much better than the dimpled Kraft.
