This just a hypothetical question....does not require an answer...
How can you not find these snakes beautiful?

Unfortunately I won't know until next season. I will be breeding Strider and Arwen together in the spring. I will post many pictures if all goes well.

I also have two new okeetees named Frodo and Bilbo, an Amel Motley named Gimli and two bairds rat snakes named Sam and Rosie (remember the barmaid Sam had the "crush" on)
I still have two new female Okeetee hatchlings that need names but Galadriel is too long and Aeowin (spelling?) is too close to Arwen.
I will post pics of the neww okeetees in a couple of days. I got them Wednesday. They are four weeks old and had never eaten.
I fed them Thursday night. Three of them ate f/t pinkies within ten minutes. The fourth and prettiest one didn't eat so I left the pinkie in with her over night. She still didn't eat. I will try a live pinkie next and then work from there.
The guy I got them from was planning to ship them to me sooner so he just never fed them.

I metioned my four new Okeetees in the previous post. They were four weeks old and their first meal ever was Thursday night. Three ate one didn't. I wasn't overly worried. Even though four weeks is a long time to go without their first feeding I figured I could get the little non-feeder eating in no time. I went out a little while ago and got a few live pinkies. I figured I would give the non-feeder a try with a live pink and give the other three a bonus meal since the pinkies I gave them the other night were so small. Well, when I opened the little non-feeder's box she was dead. Bummer, I have no idea why..she wasn't in that bad of shape. A little small but pretty active and even a little nippy. I thought I would be able to use that attitude to my advantage if I needed to try tease feeding.
I know it wasn't her box because it is exactly the same as my six other hatchling boxes.
Oh well, I guess I will never know but I will be keeping my eye on the other three to make sure nothing comes up with them.
On a brighter note...they all three ate again today !!!!
I guess some just aren't meant to make it...but man that was quick.
I will give them a a couple of days and then try to get some pictures.

The next time the shuttle lands, lets all get dressed up in ape suits and charge at the astronaughts yelling and ranting. That way they can try to figure out where they took a wrong turn.

Indigos are probabley some of the most beautiful snakes I have ever seen. I just love the way light reflects off them giving them that blue hue at certain angles. beautiful snakes.

I've always thought you've had beautiful snakes; your pics are what inspired me to get a creamsicle myself, and they're probably my favorite morph

skunky Sep 26, 2003 11:28 PM

I love creamsicles. I have one that looks exactly like your female. She's the calmest, most friendly snake I've ever come across.

Marcel Poots Sep 27, 2003 01:33 AM

That last pic is awesome!! You must like a snake like that

they have emoryi blood in them and with the recent hybrid bashings maybe he was worried of some negative statements.

I agree with you Marcel how can you not say they are beautiful!

redmom Sep 28, 2003 10:39 AM

Remember me from the show in Columbia a couple of weeks ago? I was soooo trying to convince my hubby to let me get that breeder trio you had!!! Gorgeous snakes!

Anyhow, he is making an honest effort to warm up to the idea that I now have a snake and will likely get more reptiles whether he likes it or not. He's even bought me a few herper books lately! He may let me get a gecko soon too! I'm thinking tokay or day gecko???

Anyhow, thanks for spending that time with me that day and I still have your contact info for future buys!

Thanks again!

Beleive me, I am not worried....Creams are intergrades not hybrids IN MY OPINION. Some reports list Emoryis only as Elaphe Emoryi now instead of Elaphe Guttata emoryi but it is not generaly excepted as fact accross the herping community so I will stand by my defense of intergrade until it is.
Not to mention the fact that I don't really care if some people don't like them..I do. I will keep them no matter who disagrees.
Now, it was ME not Marcel that asked the question...How can you not think these are beautiful snakes, when I posted the pictures.
