What's the name of this morph?

ZeroZero Dec 04, 2010 11:57 PM

Saw this at a pet shop today but didn't have the money or accommodation right now to get it, so I wanted to know what the phase was called so I can get one in the future.

it's going to be a bit of a challenge since it is a very young snake, but the answer doesn't have to be perfect since I would be looking for something similar to this in coloration anyways so an exact match isn't necessary (but I'd still love to know the proper term for it).

One thing I quickly noticed is it musn't be an albino form because of the black eyes. Right?

Thanks for your help. There's so many kinds out there these days it's easy to lose track of the names of the morphs.
Makes me wonder what they're gonna come up with next. I'm waiting for a green corn... lol.

Well it's definately a Motley pattern. The Color looks like a ghost to me? The Motley pattern makes any color morph look great in my opinion.

Correct, not an albino. That looks to be a motley "ghost" cornsnake. This is a double mutation consisting of hypomelanism x anerythrism.

BTW, there are some strains of selectively-bred "green" snow corns out in the hobby, such as this example from Don Soderberg, but they are not exactly bright, vivid lime green, but rather have a strong yollowish/green hue to their background coloration and saddle blotching.

It's not the best photo, but I agree with Jorge - it looks like a Ghost Motley.

Thanks for the help everyone! And I agree, it does look like a ghost. I'll keep that in mind next year when it warms up a bit and I have more room.

Also, I apologize for the camera quality. I took it on the spur of the moment with my cell phone; the colors are pretty clear however, not much different in person.
