Brumating.....????

keith_ecko Sep 26, 2003 08:49 PM

I've heard several people refer to this, but was wondering exactly what it is and why beardies do it? When does it start...when does it end? What age is affected and I'm under the assumption that it's a form of like hybernation but how does a beardie know that if he/she is inside at a constant temp???

I've heard several people refer to this, but was wondering exactly what it is and why beardies do it? It is kinda like hibernation- beardie style. They do it to prepare for the breeding season if I am correct.

When does it start...when does it end? It normally starts anytiem that you see your beardie slowin down in november. Mine only sleep a few weeks, while others sleep for up to 3 months.

What age is affected and I'm under the assumption that it's a form of like hybernation but how does a beardie know that if he/she is inside at a constant temp??? It is normally over 1 year. Normally about 1.5 year olds and up. They don't know they r at a constant temp.
(sorry for all the r and u thingies)
