Read! Read lots and lots and lots, I recommend greenigsociety.org and anapsid.org myself. Lots of handling, lots of healthy dark greens n veggies, vitamin supplement once a week, calcium supplement twice a week or more, UVB light, heat, natural sunlight and most of all TLC There are several other good herp sites out there too, and some excellent books including James Hatfield's "Green Iguana: The Ultimate Owner's Manual". And of course, hang out here, and post cute pictures of growing baby iglets!

i have been reading alot tonight...one question i do have is that a few places say about the heat source and the uvb light should be so far away from eachother...what is a good set up and if you could tell me of a site with pic's it would be greatly appriciated...thanks for the advice...soon as we get another camera i'll post a pic of the baby...only pic i have right now is one of the bp...which is a completely differnt animal..lol...thanks again

My basking lamp and UVB light are over the same shelf, but the UVB light is quite long, so if Tempest wants to be under just the UVB light and cooler than under the basking lamp, he can be. I know there's some good sites with ig cage photos on it, and people on the list have some great cage photos, I just can't think of any of them right now :P

http://www.geocities.com/glennmerrill.geo/ is the Iguana Cage Page, its the only one I've bookmarked. Ask the list, I'm sure people will post

sorry, the light i got is a repti basking spot light ...says it increases the overall ambient air temp and provides beneficial uva rays....

You'll need a proper UVB light as well, the most common ones fit a flourescent light fixture. I use a 2' light at the moment, but will be switching to a longer one in Tempest's new enclosure that will hopefully be done in the next week or so. I'm still not sure where I'll be putting the lights and heat in it myself! I'll have to wait to see how it looks in my living room (Its in my Dad's workshop right now) and where we end up putting shelves and ramps and hammocks. And a waterfall. My Dad insists Tempest needs a waterfall. Spoild ig :P
