Your title answers your question. Nothing "branches out" like a chondro or arboreal boa. Ive told you before, if you get a chondro it wont be your last. Ball pythons are addictive like potato chips, chondros are more like crack. Its great.

lmao this is true they do branch out. you have told me that before to bad you sold all your babies lol. looks like im going to have to buy from someone else just joking im sure i will get one of yours soon! lol

I think boas are the way to go! If you like to spend time with your snakes, boas are very interactive and a joy to hold and work with. Lotta genes to work with as well!
Good luck

As far as breeding projects, I also have corn snakes, and I hope to porphyraceus in the future. I've also found that it can be quite enjoyable to breed feeders, so I have assorted strains of rats as well as several species of cockroaches and other insects.

I've been debating carpets or bloods myself.
Not only because I like the way they look, but I need something that can handle my BIG retired breeder rats.

I don't have anything to do with my retired breeder rats either. Don't really want anything that gets too big though. I'm thinkin bloods would be a nice addition. I also keep some CA boas which are awesome, but aren't quite big enough for the big rats.

bloods are really cool i have a good friend thats has some and one of them will eat just about anything that you want to give her mice rats bunnies.... i would love to own a tomato bomb or a golden eye lol but who doesnt want one of those.

I was just talking about this same thing today! I keep boas and only boas, I love 'em but have been wanting a little variety lately. I'm morpher so BP's have a lot to offer me, guess that's what I'm doing snoopin around the bp forum. . Email me, maybe we can swap some kids lol!

I only work with Sand Boas and Ball Pythons. It's perfect for me because the sand boas are so different but do well in the same room. There are so many new morphs with the S/Bs that it keeps it fun and interesting. Live birth versus eggs--small versus big and the babies do great. To me it's great !!! Check out all the cool new sand boas morphs.

95% Ball pythons here...
Been getting into Hognose lately, lots of cool morphs, small size. Unique to say the least. Kinda reminds me of the ball market 10-12 years ago. Love the Amazon Tree boas as well. Tried Chondros and hated them. Boas too big, potential problems with the ever pending legislation as well.

Out of curiosity, what turned you off about the chondros?

200sxguy Dec 09, 2010 06:54 PM

what turned me off was the cost of the ones i like lol. $5,000 for a unsexed baby, thats alittle to high for me Joe but im sure i will get into them someday maybe when you hatch out a real nice red neo thats a blueline lmao i do have to say Mark you have a very nice collations of ball pythons. i almost got my albino girl from you a few years ago.

Chondros and Florida Kingsnakes. I've always wanted to keep Black Pythons but with little info about their reproductive habits, I've stayed away from them.

Here are some chondros I've produced....

And some kings...

I love Graybands too...

I gotta get some new pics.lol.

Good post.
