some people are clean freaks and dump out all the time....
some people have too much time and waste too much money also....

some people let the aspen till it turns into black dirt....
it doesn't take as long as you think with the right amount of moisture and black mold.....

I spot clean as needed and dump as needed.....washing with soap and hot water when needed....and spot clean the fecal matter from live rodents also as needed....

bowls are cleaned with soap and bleach.....

my thoughts....snakes live outside in the dirt.....and hopefully they avoid all the bird and mammal defecates in the world.....

in the cage.....clean as needed.....

I know a lot of people who spot clean weekly, then change once a month or so.
Works fine.

We tend to spot clean all tubs until they need a full clean out, such as moldy bedding, substrate sticking to the plastic, or a funky smell. Or we do a full clean at about the six month mark. Then we remove all bedding, take the tubs into the yard and wash, rinse, bleach, and dry all tubs.

Just FYI,
Rodent cages get a full clean every other week. Every week we replace all bedding, every OTHER week they get this and a full cage wipe-down with a vinegar-water mix. I do a full water bottle clean every six months as well.

The turtle cage gets cleaned when the filter gets loud, and the cat never gets cleaned because she has claws

I change all my snakes bedding every 6 months just because, most of the time it doesnt need it but i do it anyway. I spot clean everyday to every other day and add fresh bedding when needed. I would say your just fine.
