Red Hypo Brooksi

slitheringdead Dec 17, 2010 11:25 PM

Hi, i got a new camera and decided to take pics of my brooksi. He's turning out to be an awesome pet snake. He's really cool.

The hue in these pics is a bit creamy/beige because i took them under a lamp shade. I'll try to take pics under normal sunlight later. His coloration is in fact more orange than red though. I'd rather call him an orange hypo brooksi heh heh.

Pics in natural sunlight. Excuse the dirty window!

It'll be interesting to see how he turns out because i haven't been able to find many online pics of adult red hypos. He'll probably turn out really light because he doesn't have a dark red color like other juvies i've seen. It doesn't matter anyway because i like his colors/appearance. He's got a great personality too. I really enjoy having him.

I got him from Ben Siegel, who i believe is a retailer, and doesn't really breed his own animals (I could be wrong on that). Being new to this hobby, I wasn't thorough in the buying process and i didn't ask for pics of the parents. He probably didn't have them anyway. Actually, he didn't even have individual pics of the babies for me to choose from, but i don't think that's uncommon. It seems like a good number of breeders/retailers probably don't have the time or don't want to spend the time on small ticket items. I'm not bashing him or anything. I'm very happy with the brooksi and a corn snake that i bought from him. He has a good reputation, so that's why i went in blindly when i bought from him and i'm glad that i did! Just trying to explain why i don't know my brooksi's lineage

Hey I totally understand! I was just curious cause we have a few regular posters on here who are working with some red hypos and extremes athat your snake reminded me of. Ben Segal has been around for a while and is a good guy. He does buy from breeders and re-saell. He sells a ton of animals so it's understandable that he can not provide individual pics and lineage. He had some Sulfur lavs that were gorgeous for a while. He may still have some? Any way that's a very pretty animal and I wish you the best with it!
