Folks,

We allow dissent, debate, and disagreement on issues. We welcome people who feel passionately about the subjects under discussion. We have no problem when the members of a community disagree, even when they passionately disagree. What we do not allow are conversations that degenerate into name-calling, insults, and/or general chaos that lead to the overall disruption to the flow of conversation on a forum.

There are several forums on this site that stand outside of the species-specific discussion forums. These forums serve a purpose and it benefits many folks who to take the time to explore them on occasion. Primary examples:

The hybrid discussion forum was specifically created for the purpose of holding discussions about hybrids including the negative points of views that some folks may have about them. This forum exists to give people a place where they can fight it all out and not disrupt the flow of conversation on the regular discussion forums. When a hybrid topic of discussion on a regular forum becomes disruptive or out of control, then that discussion clearly no longer belongs on that forum and as such, chances are it will be moved to the proper forum for it.

The feeder food discussion forum was specifically created for the purpose of holding discussions about animals (be it rats, mice, anoles, geckos, snakes, invertebrates, etc.) that are used as food for other animals. It is totally inappropriate for anyone to go to a specific forum that is set aside for the discussion of an animal kept as pets and then ask about how one uses/treats said animals as food. That is clearly disruptive and will not be tolerated. Such posts will either be removed completely from the forums or moved to the Feeder Food Forum whichever is deemed appropriate.

Now, if anyone wants to talk about or blow off major steam about anything (primarily off topic subject matters) that is likely to degenerate into a disruptive discussion, name calling match or fight, then fine, have at it, but take it to the Open Discussion Forum please. While the terms of service also apply to that forum, the enforcement of them there is a great deal more lenient than would be expected on the other forums in light of the special nature of that forum. The main thing to remember is to keep the language clean and do not break any of the major terms of service rules (advertising, bad dealer/trader warnings, etc.). When posting there, try to keep your head above water as it can get ugly at times and do not expect folks there to pull their punches.

Having said all that please be aware that by registering and using our sites and services, you have all agreed that you have read, and will abide by, our Terms of Service.

We try to make it very clear to folks that they need to be aware that if they violate the rules, OnlineHobbyist.com, Inc. may delete or edit their messages, contact their internet service provider, have their account terminated, cancel their advertising, and/or block their access to our web site. We reserve the right to refuse service, limit access, or terminate a user's site privileges at our discretion.

Although a host/moderator/staff member may on occasion warn a user about a violation (via a courtesy email letter), or post a general warning to a forum, photo gallery, or chat room, we have no policy guaranteeing that anyone will be warned about violations on their account, nor any specific number or type of violations that may result in action against their account.

Any public discussion of actions made against a user's account will be removed. We will not discuss any action against a user's account with anyone but the individual himself or herself. Likewise, we reserve the right to move or remove disruptive posts about actions a moderator(s) may have/may not have taken in regards to matters occurring on any forum.

Now no one is saying anyone has to like or even agree with the rules as they have been laid out, but if you choose to actively participate on any of hundreds of Pet Hobbyist forums, it is expected that you will abide by them.

Feedback on the site's features and policies may be sent via the Feedback Form.

If you have had your ability to log in, post, or upload on/to the site rescinded, or had posts or images removed, or had your access to chat rooms blocked, or have a problem with the actions taken by the moderator(s) of any forum, you may contact the Kingsnake.com Site Coordinator and discuss the matter.
