SOUTHEAST EXPRESS (China) 14 December 10 Man seriously injured after hit by tortoise fell from 5th floor in Fuzhou
A young man in Fuzhou, Fujian Province was injured recently after a tortoise fell five stories from a balcony and struck his face. The injured man, surnamed Li was scratched on his face by the terrapin's claws and complained that the pain and turtle were "killing" him.
The tortoise, which broke its shell in the fall, escaped from a terrarium and belonged to an elderly couple who said it weighted 2.5 kilograms and had never escaped before. They compensated Li at a hospital for his injuries and said they would try to release the turtle in the wild if it doesn't die first of injuries from the fall.
