This is one of my 2010 Peruvian Rainbow Boas. These snakes are usually born not as brightly colored as Brazilians. All of my 2010 babies are growing up quick and getting better looking as they grow. As they mature most of them will be very intense red colored snakes.
The Peruvian subspecies has recently been grouped with the Brazilian subspecies as one seperate species. Some of the other previously recognized Epicrates cenchria subspecies are now categorized as seperate species. A few others have like the Peruvians been lumped in with the Brazilians. All of my Peruvians are different looking than typical Brazilians with fewer and larger scales and generally darker thicker wider markings so I will continue breeding them to other Peruvian bloodlines of Brazilian Rainbows to maintian this distinctive look.
