who has some interesting Pueblans?

mikefedzen Dec 23, 2010 06:23 PM

here's some snakes from my collection.

this first snake is a 07 female hypo pueblan that I got as a hatchling from Bayou Reptiles. I power fed her and the male clutchmate I got with her for a couple years, and one day the male decides he doesn't like his rubbermaid container home so he jets out one night after somebody forgot to snap the lid shut. :[ Good thing I quit keeping snakes in rubbermaids just incase he ever wants to show up somewhere around here...

the next snake was being a little bit shy when I was taking pics, and I wasn't trying to bother her too much. so this is all I have of this 06 female hypo pueblan, who is actually smaller than my 07 hypo female.

those 2 female hypos will hopefully be breeding with this guy this coming spring. he's a 06 hypo apricot pueblan, the replacement male, lol. I've got my fingers crossed for these breedings.

and the next 2 snakes are 2010 hatchlings that I plan on raising up to add into the pueblan mix in a couple years.
the first one is a female, het for hypo, high black. she's a good size for being a 010...

and (possibly) one of her future mates, a 2010 hypo apricot male pueblan.

I will be breeding a trio on breeder loan from a good friend of mine. Should be getting some bicolors/oreos with some luck!! Check out the ads here on kingsnake.com for EdzExotics (I think I got that right). He has some nice looking sockheaded animals for sure.

Don Shores always has some really nice sock-heads too!

Nice snakes Mike.I really like that (07) female.perfect bands man.
Don't be surprised next year if you breed them together and produce all normals? unless all your hypos are from the same line.

And that (2010) female has so many bands she looks weird.Looks long and skinny body type also? what line is she from? do you know?

hey Shannon,
the 07 female and the 06 female are both regular Hypos, but the 06 female just does not look quite as hypo.

does anybody know who originated the hypo line? or when?
I always assumed the hypos I got from Bayou Reptiles were pure as that was the general consensus at the time.

The two lines are both pure but are different allele's and not compatible.Mark Bell also has a line as well as Rob.

p.s. it is my belief that the line from Mark Bell is actually hypo and the line from Rob is actually a t plus albino. But, this is just my theory on looks and no test has ever been done.

I re-acquired an old original pair of those "white-coral" Pueblans a couple years ago. I am working with Shannon on this who has them on loan for a while. Just let me know.

Jerry, I would absolutley love a pair or two of those when you have them. They were beautiful. Here's a story for you. My mother who now lives in GA, found all of those photos you sent me what?.....almost 20 years ago. I guess I left them at her house when I got married and moved out in 96. They must have been in one of their boxes when they moved in 2000. Recently, she found them and I was pumped! She sent them back up to me and before I could even look at them again, my wife unknowingly...threw them out. I was disapointed because I planned on using photos of your Pueblans to set the standard for when I start up my group again. Please let me know. Thanks and take care.
