Dirty Water and the Fat (Happy) Conda..... (Question)

Porkins Sep 27, 2003 03:39 AM

My Green just put down 3 mice on Tuesday, and he has already soiled his water/soaking dish pretty good. The problem is, he is still pretty fat, and has yet to get out of his dish. I do not want to move him when he is still pretty full and happy, yet, I am worried, since the water is pretty dirty. Should I go ahead and take him out and change the water, or should I just let him finish up? Every other time he has eaten, he goes pretty fast and then is out of the water, and I can change it.

` That dirty water is a perfect place for disease to start. Most of the Anacondas I've dealt with don't mind being moved after eating. Some are more sensitive to it when babies. If they don't mind, I move them when full, but very gently, and supporting their bellies without squeezing them. Also, their need for constant heat is the greatest while digesting. Don't let them take a chill, while digesting.
