Overnight lows for brumation question

jsschrei Dec 30, 2010 01:46 AM

My garage has been staying at 54-56 daytime highs and 49-50 or so for overnight lows. BUT we are getting a cold spell. The garage will likely reach the upper 30s as the overnight LOW and upper 40s as the daytime high for about 5 days. Is this OK or should I wheel them into the house (which will expose them to about 65 degrees)?

Thanks to all that reply!

Temperatures below freezing will kill snakes. So I'd bring them in. I wouldn't brumate snakes and let the temperature dip any lower than the mid-40s. If you check the temperature on the floor along a wall that faces the outside of the house, you may find that it's colder there than you think.

Corn snakes do not have to be chilled much. 55 degrees will work fine. Right now we're having a "warm spell" and it's 60 degrees in my snake room. It's no big deal, temperature is not as important as light cycling.
