Monster Hondo

juniormints Jan 02, 2011 10:09 AM

I am looking around in an attempt to identify the longest Honduran Milksnake in captivity. I have a large female that is over 7 feet long. Has anybody heard of one longer?

Thanks Doug for the advice.

I don't have hondo's here, one of many species I want to have someday... but to second Doug's request... I'd love to see pics of your "little" baby... at better than 7 foot it is a rather large specimen.

Did you raise it up yourself or know it's age?

7 feet? Let's see a pic. The biggest I have is a couple inches beyond six feet. Male anery het for hypo. Weight last year was about 1,450 grams. I have a male tangerine albino that is about the same size.

Thanks Don and others. GerryG has actually seen him in person. This big and clean anery is one of my favorites. He is so solid - you can feel how solid and muscular he is when you hold him but thank God he's not the spazz he was for the first year of his life. He would never try to bite as a juvenile but he would thrash around and make it clear he did not want to be held. Once he got to breeding age he calmed down plenty and is a lap dog now. Funny how that happens. He originates from Doherty's line.
