Best thing to do is to wait till it is real late, when the lights have been off for awhile and go hunting with a flashlight (That's how I usually find mine) To my experience, kings go low. However...I did find a 2.5' female streached along an extention cord to a light bulb about 7'up. now how's that for a high wire act? Frank

In the evening turn off the lights and all sound. Just sit there and listen. It can take a while, but if your kings hungry and still in the room you'll hear it.

I have yet to try to sit and listen. I did notice while in the enclosure he would mainly roam between 9-11pm so those are the times I would do most of the intecive looking. I am leaving at 11pm tonight to do some field studies and will not be back untill tomrowo night so maybe I can just sit and listen then. It was feeding tiem when he got out so I know he is hugery but unfortunatly my female garter had babbys half of wich got out before I realized she gave birth so by my estemate there are at least 5 little snakes runing around somwere for him to eat so it could be a while before he is realy hungery. One thing that is strange is I keep parakeets and he would have no problem geting to them yet they are left untouched. I also keep my breeder mice in the same room as the snakes "6 mice in all" and they have yet to be tamperd with. I fugred the next day I would wake up to find all my birds and mice gone hmmm
